A 240,000ft² warehouse and office complex is to be built at Aerodrome Business Park in Baldonell, Dublin. The site will be occupied by logistics solutions provider PRL Logistics.
Glencar Construction has been awarded the contact, which will see it ‘undertake full fit-out works on the new warehouse development which was developed by Exeter Ireland’. The scope of the work, Glencar says, ‘encompasses full-fit out, including racking, sprinklers, a state-of-the-art photovoltaic (PV) system, lighting, mechanical and electrical (M&E) plus associated civil engineering and enabling works’.
In addition, Glencar will also be tasked with fitting out the three-storey office space and providing new welfare areas. Fit-out is set to commence in January; the project is due to to take 17 weeks, meaning practical completion is expected in early May.
Richard Jones, Logistics Specialist at PRL Logistics, commented: “We are very much looking forward to getting onsite with the Glencar team In January and delivering a first class outcome.”
This is not the only project that Glencar has worked on in Dublin recently. In early November, it announced that it had reached practical completion on a new distribution centre for IKEA at Greenogue, Dublin on behalf of client Wincanton.
Rory McGillycuddy, country director at Glencar Ireland, said: “So soon after the successful conclusion to the fit-out works undertaken for IKEA at Greenogue in Dublin, we are absolutely delighted to today confirm the award of our second fit-out contract to date and in quick succession in Ireland.
“As specialists in the industrial and logistics market we are bringing the considerable knowledge and expertise we have gained over the past seven years in the UK to Ireland where there is a strong demand for high-quality construction and fit-out projects.”
