Aviva Investors today announced the completion of a deal to fund construction of a new distribution facility at Omega Business Park in Warrington, just off the M62.
The unit will be used for cross-docking and a deal has already been made to pre-let the facility to Iceland Foods Ltd on a 20-year lease. It will become a hub for the supermarket chain to distribution goods around Wales and the North of England.
The land upon which this facility will be built is over 24 acres, with plans for the unit suggesting it will have 505,000ft2 of gross internal floorspace and capacity for 104 HGV docking bays.
James Stevens, Aviva Investors’ Head of Real Estate Investment, said: “We are pleased to complete a deal which extends our programme of development across the UK, particularly on a high-specification asset in one of the country’s strongest logistics locations.”
